Our Houses
There are ten almshouses consisting of eight on the ground floor and two on the first floor (accessible by stairs and/or stair lift).
The accommodation comprises a sitting room, one bedroom, kitchen and a shower room. There is also a hall cupboard and store room. The main rooms each have central heating and there is an electric fire in the sitting room. Each property has a small garden which residents are required to look after and from which they are able to enjoy the views of the surrounding countryside.
The properties are suited only to applicants who are capable of living independently.
Residents pay a weekly maintenance contribution which is similar to rent but different in law, and less than a commercial rate. Additional costs for the residents are council tax and telephone. Access to the Lifeline service is also available.
The Trust is run by volunteer Trustees and administered by two officers, being a Clerk to the Trustees and a Treasurer.
